SARK

Sark carriage Sark Cliffs taken in the early morning sun Cottage in Rue Lucas

Sark is a tiny island which still has a feudal system of government. It is three miles long by one and half miles wide.  There are no cars on the island and transport is by horse or tractor drawn vehicles, cycles or simply on foot. A beautiful island, Sark has excellent restaurants and some delightful hotels.  The perfect place to unwind and explore and a perfect place for a walking holiday.  The island is favoured by an amazing number of bird species so is a perfect haven for birdwatchers.  Sark is 350 feet above sea level and its coast is full of caves and cliffs.

The island has several shops. Visit the gardens of La Seigneurie which has been home to Seigneurs of Sark since 1675.  The Seigneur and not so long ago the Dame of Sark are the head of the feudal government of the island.  The gardens are open daily.
